Peep Culture DVD

“Peep Culture is a compelling documentary which showcases vital and relevant tensions surrounding privacy and self-exposure today”

– Elizabeth Podnieks, Associate Professor, Department of English, Ryerson University

Peep Culture is a one-hour documentary film that is an insightful look into a world where the internet and reality TV can make you a star.  YouTube, Facebook, and Twitter are high-speed versions of lost village life, reconnecting the human tribe int eh context of a culture that is celebrity and camera obssed – and where we are not so much connecting as “broadcast”.

In the age of peep, the challenge isn’t to protect your private life – but how best to capitalize on it!

Featuring Toronto writer and social commenter Hal Niedzviecki, and introverted and decidedly private individual who allowed his life to be broadcast live on the internet in the name of social experimentation, Peep Culture is a timely and provocative exploration in sociology, psychology, culture, and new media.  This is a film that answers a number of questions and raises even more, generating discussion around issues of privacy, ethics, social media, our changing culture, and more.

Now available on DVD for home and public use.
