So here’s the deal: On Thursday July 17th from 8pm to at least 11 and later if people show up, I’ll be at the Rhino (1249 Queen Street West
Toronto, on Queen Street, one block west of Dufferin, google map here).
Why will I be at the Rhino? To meet you, of course. It’s my first (and possibly last) ever Hal Needs New Friends Event. I am inviting anyone who is either 1) friends with me on Facebook or 2) reads my blog or 3) follows me on Twitter to come have a drink with me.
I will give you a short quiz on the life of Hal (under five minutes) and otherwise I’ll just be hanging out and chatting. You can come by for a minute or let me pour you a drink and stay for two hours. It’s entirely up to you. I don’t want you to RSVP. I want to be surprised.
What’s the point of this? Well, I’ve got 600 Facebook friends, but in real life not so much. So I’m conducting this exercise to see if it’s actually possible to transfer cyber connection into face-to-face interaction.
I hope to see you there!
Your future pal, Hal.
